Transit, including buses, trains, shuttles and vans that are available to the public, is a key component of inclusive and sustainable communities. The City and County of Broomfield has completed the Broomfield Transit Study, which identified strategies to improve transit access for residents of all ages, abilities and income levels.
The final study report is available in the Documents section of this page.

Project Overview
As Broomfield continues to grow and change, so do the mobility needs of its residents. The Broomfield Transit Study evaluated existing transit services, community demographics, travel patterns and planned development to better understand both current and future mobility needs.
Through technical analysis and extensive community engagement, the study identified gaps in the existing transit network and developed recommendations to:
Improve local and regional transit connections
Expand travel options within Broomfield
Enhance access to key destinations, including employment, education, healthcare and retail
Improve mobility for older adults, youth, people with disabilities and lower-income households
The final report outlines strategies to strengthen transit service and better coordinate with regional providers.
Community Engagement
Public input was a key component of the study and directly informed the final recommendations. Engagement occurred in two phases.
Phase One (June–October 2024) – Complete
The first round of outreach included surveys, pop-up events, an online mapping tool and focus groups. More than 3,000 residents participated, providing valuable insight into travel patterns, service gaps and priorities for improvement.
Phase Two (June–August 2025) – Complete
During the second phase, the project team shared draft findings and recommendations with the community. Feedback received during this phase helped refine and finalize the plan to ensure it reflects Broomfield’s current and future transit needs.
The Broomfield Transit Study provides a roadmap for improving transit access and expanding mobility options citywide. Implementation of recommendations will occur as funding opportunities, partnerships and regional coordination efforts allow.
