Project Overview

The City and County of Broomfield added 10 new residential snowplow trucks or “Snow Fighters” to improve neighborhood snow service this winter. With the additional trucks, Broomfield crews will now be able to manage residential snow and ice removal. As CCOB transitions to this new in-house program, residents may notice some adjustments as crews refine routes and operations. You can learn more about street maintenance and snow plows at Broomfield.org/SnowandIce.

Now that the new trucks are here, it is time for another snowplow naming contest!

Public Engagement

Residents can submit names until Jan. 9 under the "Submit your name idea" tab below. Broomfield City Council will narrow submissions to 20 finalists, and the community will vote to select the final 10 names. Voting will take place Jan 27-Feb. 12 and winners will be announced Feb. 16.

    Submissions are now closed for the 2025-2026 Snowplow Name Contest! Thank you to everyone who submitted their name suggestions. In total, 556 names were received. This month, Broomfield City Council will review the submissions and select the finalists.The community vote will begin Jan. 28 to select the new snowplow names from the list of finalists!
