In 2020, Broomfield's ward boundaries were redistricted in response to recent population growth. Learn more about the process by reading below or find your new ward boundary on this new interactive map.


While the commenting period here has ended, you can still submit your feedback to City Council via email at council@broomfieldcitycouncil.org. 


The law requires Broomfield's Wards to each have approximately the same number of residents. Because of recent growth, it is time to update Broomfield boundaries.

City and County of Broomfield created three options for redistricting, and asked for public feedback. When creating these options, the City and County of Broomfield continued to meet these charter requirements:

  • Contiguous Compact
  • Approximately same number of voters
  • Cannot exclude a Councilmember from office before the expiration of the term for which they were elected 

The following were also considered:

  • School district boundaries
  • Keeping neighborhoods together
  • Placing boundaries with major cross streets or natural borders
  • Future growth 

As the City and County of Broomfield moves forward with redistricting, districts will not be arranged around term-limited councilmembers; Councilmembers will serve their final year, but their district may change before the next election.

    City Council Members made a final decision on the three Ward Boundary adjustment options during the City Council Meeting on August 25. Read the full Ward Boundary Council memo (External link). This means the City and County of Broomfield will adopt Option B (See map and data) as it's new ward boundaries effective for the next municipal elections.

    At the August 11 Council meeting, City Council members voted to adopt Ordinance No. 2134. (Read the Council memo and view the presentation.)

    Councilmember Law-Evans moved and Councilmember Shaff seconded that ordinance no. 2134 be adopted on first reading with map Option B (See data for Option B). Councilmembers Anderson, Castriotta, Groom, Henkel, Jezierski, Law-Evans, Lim, Shaff voted aye. Councilmembers Lindstedt and Tessier voting nay.

    There will be a public hearing and a second and final reading at the August 25 City Council Meeting.
