WELCOME

As Broomfield continues to work diligently to expand diverse housing options to meet the needs of our community, a big step was achieved at the City Council Meeting on October 12, 2021. City Council approved the Intergovernmental Agreement with the Housing Authority for the City and County of Broomfield (BHA) and the transfer of governing authority to an independent board of commissioners. The new board of commissioners will be appointed by City Council. Briefly, the benefits of separating the managing responsibilities include having more flexibility to react to current market conditions and opportunities as well as the ability to apply for grant funds and other resources that are currently unavailable to the housing authority as currently governed. Additionally, project and development risks will be diverted from the City. The new commission will be effective on January 1, 2022, and an organizational meeting will be held in early January.

The City Council presentation is available for more detail.

Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for a commissioner position. The application will be available in the first part of November 2021 at Broomfield.org/housing.

Please feel free to ask questions or leave comments below. Thank you!

Seeking to learn about housing opportunities

    J asked 19 days ago

    J,

Thank you for reaching out. Your question is very broad and, therefore, more difficult to answer with any specificity.

However, several questions are addressed on the Housing Division webpage. Although Broomfield does not own, manage or operate any housing of its own at this time, Broomfield does partner with several entities to best serve the housing needs of various Broomfield populations. If you need more specific direction, please contact us.

Thank you for reaching out. Your question may refer to a number of programs. For assistance in applying to a specific program, please contact housing-authority@Broomfield.org. Additionally, program details, as well as several housing resources, may be found at https://www.broomfield.org/270/Housing-Authority. Hope this helps.

Is there a list anywhere or anyone i can call for low income housing options or a list of low income apartments inside of Broomfield?

    BRI asked 5 months ago

Hello, and thank you for your question! The City and County of Broomfield does not have a specific list of this kind, however there is a list of apartments on the Broomfield Housing Authority website Broomfield Apartments, just not sorted by low-income apartments.

Also, if it helps, you can learn more about the services provided and contact information for the Case Manager on the Rental Assistance page of Broomfield.org. Or, browse the Broomfield Online Resource Guide website for support services.

Hopefully this information is useful and helpful!
