What is the procedure/protocol for filing a complaint regarding habitability and health standards against your apartment complex landlord?

Bruce A asked 7 days ago

City and County of Broomfield can't legally mediate disputes. Here are some resources for you. Low-income persons may receive assistance from Colorado Housing Connects Tenant-Landlord Hotline at 1.844.926.6632. In addition, if you believe you may be experiencing discrimination, contact the HUD Office of Fair Housing at 800-669-9777 to discuss your complaint. If you need legal assistance for a pending eviction, contact Colorado Legal Services at https://www.coloradolegalservices.org or 303-837-1313.

Hello, is applying for section 8 and low income the same application?

SadieF98 asked about 2 months ago

    Hello,

Usually there are different applications for Section 8 housing vouchers and lower income housing. For Housing Vouchers (section 8), Broomfield currently doesn't have any openings. We recommend searching in the surrounding counties for an application.

The Broomfield Housing Division does not own or operate any low income housing. Please conduct an online search for Low Income Housing Tax Credit Housing (LIHTC apartments) in the areas that you are interested in living in; a list should pop up with each municipality you try-you will need to be mindful of which apartments are age restricted. The next step will be to reach out to the apartments' office manager directly to find out if there are any vacancies.

How long is the wait list to get an apartment?

    Scott asked 6 months ago

    Good Morning Scott

Broomfield Housing Division is responsible for bringing housing to Broomfield, we do not own or operate and low income housing. You will need to call each of the apartment complexes individually to see if they are 1. holding a wait list and 2. check for vacancies if they are open for business. Please review other questions and answers for how to search for low income housing tax credit apartments. Thanks.

Do you have a list of low income housing options for Broomfield or the bordering cities

    Ash asked 6 months ago

    Ash

We have found that the best way to search for these housing units is to include a search on Low Income Housing Tax Credit Housing and then choose the city you want. For example: Low Income Tax Credit Housing in Broomfield. You can do that for the surrounding municipalities as well.

What I would tell you is to be patient, be persistent, and connect with as many people and resources as you can try.

    Other resources include

    Affordable housing online

    Boulder county-

    Boulder Housing Partners (BHP)

Good afternoon, Ms Torres. Thank you for your inquiry.  I believe we spoke on the phone earlier, and I will respond to this question in case others in the community have the same question. The best thing for you to do right now is contact The Broomfield Housing Alliance. They are the organization that is handling the Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV).

I have an autistic child and need affordable Housing, please help.

Janee Robinson asked about 1 year ago

Good Morning.  For immediate assistance, we recommend contacting the Housing Division directly at housingdivision@broomfield.org

Have you connected with an organization that will train you to become your child's caretaker. Please connect with Broomfield FISH for more information on that.

My understanding around housing for people with disabilities, is that they are eligible to become residents at senior housing facilities. You may want to call different places to find out if they accept people with documented disabilities. You will need proper documentation and they will be able to guide you.

You can also check the Broomfield Housing Alliance for information.

Ow much are your 1 Bedroom apts.

    Gloria asked 9 months ago

    Good Afternoon,

The Broomfield Housing Division does not manage the properties. You will need to contact the apartment managers at the places you are looking at for specific rates. For example, if you want to find out about Academy Place, you will need to contact them directly. There are different units at different rates and your income verification will determine which affordable unit you need for your family.
