What Makes A Sustainable Community?

Broomfield’s Comprehensive Plan makes environmental stewardship a focal point of Broomfield’s long-term social, economic and environmental health. Broomfield has programs in place that make our community more sustainable each day. Watch this video for a brief overview of current programs.

  • How do you picture the future of environmental stewardship in our community?
  • What are your ideas for simple or major projects that will create a more sustainable future for our community?
  • How can Broomfield and our citizens use resources more efficiently and effectively?
  • What reuse and recycling programs would you like to see?
  • What efforts would make your community more livable, healthy, and desirable?

Broomfield is embarking on a journey to expand environmental stewardship efforts to create a community that meets our residents goals for energy, water conservation, local food and agriculture, business sustainability, and multi-modal transportation. We need you to build this environmental stewardship vision with us!

Over the next 12-18 months, please share your visions and priorities so, together, we can create a plan to guide the development of environmental stewardship for the next decade. A plan, not just for the Broomfield, but for the entire community that will enhance our environmental stewardship culture and increase our position as a community that leads the way to a more sustainable future.
