John was a dedicated Recreation Services employee with over thirty years of service. He also shared his love of golf with high schoolers by coaching both the boys and girls teams. Nancy has spent a majority of her time educating Broomfielders in a variety of science subjects. Both continue to give back to their community as they enjoy retirement.

Paul Derda was the longtime director of Broomfield's Recreation Department and a constant presence as master of ceremonies at charity fundraisers and public events for decades. Derda also volunteered for Broomfield Community Foundation, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club and served as an usher in his church.
