Project Overview
The City and County of Broomfield (CCOB) is updating its Comprehensive Plan and Transportation Mobility Plan through a single, integrated process called Broomfield Together. Broomfield Together brings land use, transportation, housing, economic vitality, sustainability and quality-of-life planning together to ensure city investments support the quality of life you value.
What is a Comprehensive (Comp) Plan?
The Comp Plan is the community’s north star. It is a long-range blueprint that translates the community’s shared values into clear goals for land use, housing, infrastructure, economic vitality and more. The Comp Plan provides a framework to guide decisions for the next 10-20+ years. It ensures that as Broomfield grows, Broomfield stays aligned with the character and values of the people who call it home.
What is a Transportation Mobility Plan (TMP)?
The TMP is the community’s movement guide. It’s a plan for developing and managing a community's transportation network in a way that complements and supports the community vision established in the Comp Plan. It can guide the expansion of mobility options and how people travel safely and efficiently throughout the community, whether behind the wheel, on a bike or walking through the neighborhood. The TMP identifies priority projects, such as roadway improvements and trail connections, to ensure Broomfield’s transportation network is safe, efficient and aligns with the community’s needs and desires.
Why are the plans being updated together?
Updating the Comp Plan and TMP together ensures that decisions on land use, housing, the economy and transportation work together. This coordinated approach leads to:
Smarter investments: Dollars spent support community goals.
Holistic View: Looking at Broomfield as a whole, rather than separate pieces. This ensures that strategies for housing, the economy and transportation are aligned, creating a more resilient and livable city.
Easier community participation: You can share your input in one go to help shape the vision for Broomfield’s future.
Public Engagement: How to Lead the Way
Your input will define the goals and policies that will shape Broomfield’s future. Whether you take a quick survey or participate in an in-depth community Open House, your involvement ensures the final plans align with the values of those who call Broomfield home. Lead the way by sharing your perspective.
